The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with expertise in Python programming and high volume data applications to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in developing and deploying high performance, scalable, and secure data processing systems. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data processing platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement highly scalable and reliable data processing systems using Python and related technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements, design and implement solutions, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
• Develop, test, and maintain software components and APIs to support data processing workflows and integrations
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and build systems that meet their needs
• Continuously optimize data processing systems to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure platform availability, reliability, and security
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing backend systems using Python
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
• Proven experience working with high volume data applications, including data ingestion, processing, and storage
• Experience working in or designing distributed systems
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience in designing schemas and operating database systems under high volume work loads, particularly SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and ElasticSearch
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, CICD, Terragrunt and Git
• Self starter with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work Rapidly and independently
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
• Experience with Django and Celery is a plus
• Prior early-stage startup experience is a plus
• Experience in DevOps or Security is a plus
